'IT WASN'T THAT BAD'

I had been having so many issues with ALL my bras since after i gave birth so Yesterday,i finally went and had a bra fitting, which i was quite nervous about. For some people its not such a big deal for others it is; for many different reasons.

The reason I was nervous is because I haven't been for a bra fitting before and I thought I'd be standing there completely topless with someone looking at my body secretly judging especially because of my 'mum bod'.

I arrived at Marks & Spencers, told the lady assistant I had arrived for my appointment. My 'fitter' arrived abit earlier which is always a bonus. I got taken to a fitting room and asked to remove just my top (which i thought was quite odd). The lady left the room, which locked from the outside which I found really good as no faffing around with the locks etc in between top changing, trying on bras etc. I had ample enough time to get myself organised. She popped back in with a tape measure, measure just underneath my bra where the underwires sit, mumbled some numbers that I didn't quite catch and said would be back with bras to try on. I think I found this part the most awkward of the fitting, just sitting and waiting behind a closed curtain and locked door.
She popped back in with a couple of bra's and told me which order to try them on in-

So the first didn't quite fit, not enough cup support, a little to big on the band. The next one was the right support but still a little big around the band. All about trial and error i suppose. I thought it was okay but I guess thats where I've been going wrong and the reason I've been having issues.- I don't really know anything; as the sizes I got from doing a home fitting was completely different haha!
Third time lucky as this size was the perfect fit- I even plucked up the courage to ask a couple of questions about how it looked etc and how other style bras would fit. In the end I came out with 2 sizes (for different style bras)  and told to try bras on before I buy. (good point, definitely gonna do that from now on)
I had a little nose around at the bras and tried a few on- but I just couldn't seem to find any I liked the style of. I did however, go somewhere else; tried them on as advised and picked up just some everyday bras to start me off. I'm now so excited to go bra shopping- can't wait! But have to wait for payday (thumbs down)
I can certainly tell the difference already by how well the new ones fit, I'm all supported, no straps falling down, riding up, feeling loose. Its great :)

So overall, it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be, and I definitely didn't feel judged in anyway. It wasn't as intrusive either, just friendly and professional. Just have to think about how many times they do it a day really for many different people.
Any ladies or girlies going for their first bra, Do Not be worried- everything is fine and just think about the end result of all the lovely garments you get to treat yourself too.

Where do you like to do your bra shopping? Any recommendations?

xx
